The International Conference on Structures and Architecture (ICSA) 2025 was held at University of Antwerp. Prof. Demi Fang chaired a mini-symposium titled “The Next Generation of Embodied Carbon Reduction Strategies” with Dr. Jonathan Broyles (MIT) and Martín Torres (University of Colorado Boulder).
Initially proposed as a special session, we upgraded to a mini-symposium (two sessions) due to the high quality and quantity of papers. Additionally, one of the papers we invited from authors Leïlah Sory, Caitlin Mueller, and Christoph Reinhart won best paper at the conference!
We also enjoyed taking a biking tour with current and former Ney & Partners designers Lennert Loos (now KU Leuven) and Abel Groenewolt to bridges and structures in Antwerp.
